A precise approach to delivering quality care and fiscal responsibility.

Got a question? We have answers!

What is eighty20’s philosophy?

The purpose of any healthcare institution is to serve its community by providing good patient care. While this is an imperative, it is not always the case that organizations balance the demands of providing quality care and fiscal responsibility.

We are experienced clinicians and operations executives who approach every initiative with that critical balance in mind. We begin with the belief that effective quality care actually drives down healthcare costs by aligning incentives that help the organization make the best use of its resources.

How is eighty20 different from other healthcare consultancies?

We are experienced professionals with long resumes and a new approach to healthcare consulting. Our principals began their careers in clinical work or administration. We have held staff jobs, middle management and executive positions in hospitals, physician groups or ambulatory care centers. We have worked with consultants and have been consultants. And, at the core, we understand management’s responsibility as healthcare providers and stewards of the valuable resources and essential services they manage.

Our principals are directly involved in each project. We do not use a leveraged staffing model in which new associates learn at the client’s expense. Our consultants have deep, specific subject-matter experience. We personally ensure that the project is focused, decisions are made quickly and correctly, and the process moves efficiently. The principal who initiates an assessment completes the implementation. We are directly accountable for the work we do and the results we promise. And we will stay with you until those results are delivered.

How can eighty20 help my organization make real changes?

The key to sustainable change is balancing priorities and making sure those priorities are addressed.

Most of our clients already know exactly what needs to be done. They live it daily and know what changes are required to better meet their mission. We are responsible for helping clients actualize what they know needs to be done. We are responsible not only for achieving results, but also for giving management teams the tools necessary to sustain improvements.

We diagnose issues and design solutions directly with your staff. Your staff will quickly learn the processes and methods, and your management team will be involved in every step of the process. We help you anticipate and prepare for the transition as part of our commitment to making sure that the accomplishments we realize together are sustainable by for the long term.

Some clients have referred to our projects as “management boot camp” — a rigorous program and investment in change that that pays returns in organizational improvements and leadership development.

How does eighty20 handle resistance to change?

By the time an organization recognizes the need for change, there is typically upheaval and a lot of stress. We work to help the organization look forward and focus on its goals. And our collaborative approach minimizes resistance and stress by managing and pacing change.

My organization used a team from eighty20 to manage and redesign operational and billing processes for our large hospital owned, multi-specialty physician group.

Our clients say it best…

Leadership. Expertise. Integrity. Accountability. Creativity.
